So ready for summer

On Wednesday morning, Cameron woke up with a 103 fever and throwing up. He was really not himself all day Wednesday, and today he is still a little emotional, but he is getting better. His food is staying down and his fever is 102 without medicine and 99.8 with Advil (it was only coming down to 101.5 yesterday with Tylenol & Advil). This week was suppose to be Cameron's last in preschool until next fall. Well it ended two days early for him. I feel bad that Cameron isn't going to get any closure with his school year. It feels weird that he is done without having a final day to say goodbye to his friends & teacher.

Of course Kasey has to do everything his brother does so he is coughing today and has a little fever of 99.8. Hopefully he skips the rest, but at this point I am not holding out hope.

We are suppose to be going to the Mariners game on Saturday. I hope they are better by then. I am so ready to start the summer when kids don't get sick every other week. It has been a long winter and I am ready to be in the sun!

The Swing Sets!!

For Cameron and Kasey's birthdays', we decided to build them a new swing set that had a little play house underneath. We wanted to get it done in between their birthdays and this weekend was perfect weather to get it done. Cameron was all excited and helped Chris whenever he could.

It took us both days to almost finish it, but at the end of day one we had the swings functioning and they both enjoyed them.
At the end of the second day we had it done (except for the roof and a couple of floor boards inside the play house). Kasey likes the idea of the slide.We realized after we built it that the slide was too fast (Cameron was catching air on the bumps). We fixed it Tuesday evening. No pictures after the fix, but Cameron is no longer scared of it.Kasey likes the rock wall ....
a little too much though. I think my relaxing summer just went up in smoke. We are working on a way to keep him from climbing it.Cameron picked out the handle for the house. He wanted one that had flowers since Mom loves flowers. What a sweetheart!They are both enjoying the little house. Cameron keeps asking to go out to "his new little house."

Cameron asked what we are doing with the old swing set and I told him we could give it to a friend of his who doesn't have a swing set. After a little while he came back with the idea that his friend Sage didn't have a swing set, so we called Sage's Mom and they said they would love it. That swing set has made the rounds. It started out at our house, but Cam was to young for it when we moved in so it went to Tiffini's house where her boys played with it for a few years. After they moved, it came back to our house and we decided to build the new one so it's off to Sage's house. That little swing set has been well loved!

9 Phrases Women Use

My Aunt is in town and she showed me this list and I had to share it.

1 - Fine - This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2 - Five Minutes - If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes only means five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3 - Nothing - This is the calm before the storm. This means something and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
4 - Go Ahead - This is a dare, not permission, don't do it.
5 - Loud Sigh - This is not actually a word, but a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing about nothing. ( refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing)
6 - That's okay - This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7 - Thanks - A woman is thanking you, do not question or faint. Just say you're welcome. (A clause should be added here - This is true unless she says "Thanks a lot" that is pure sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. Do not say you're welcome that will bring a whatever.)
8 - Whatever - Is a woman's way of saying screw you!
9 - Don't worry about it, I got it - Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

The good and the bad

The bad: My dad had a heart attack.

The good: My brother, sister-in-law and niece came to visit.

While I wish it didn't take a heart attack to get them to come out here, (and they were already coming for a visit over memorial day) we do not get to see them nearly enough. What was really great about this visit is that my Dad had no idea that they were coming. I picked them up at the airport Saturday morning and drove to my parents house. Chris had told my Dad that I needed to go run an errand so I would be a little late :) I came in and gave my Dad a hug. Then we let Pauline, my niece, go up and say hi. The look was priceless. I also can't believe that Cameron didn't spill the beans for the 30 minutes he was there waiting for us (He was sooooo excited!) The funny thing is, that my Dad was talking to Pauline the day before and he flat out asked her when she was coming for a visit. My brother said he was in the background going "say 'soon.' "

So when my Dad needed to rest this weekend, we all got to go out and have some fun. Here are some pictures.

The kids had a lot of fun at Safari Sam's in Sherwood!They also climbed the trees at my parent's house. It was a nice weekend and we can't wait to see them in 3 weeks. Seeing them this often is unheard of. It gets expensive to get back and forth from DC, but I will have seen then 4 times in one year!
